To whom it may concern, I have been in the Direct Selling Industry for 10 years and i can honestly say it has brought so much value to my life. Besides having the best products for my family, it has afforded us little extras that my job as a computer graphics operator could not. I have learned the real value of helping people which is the true foundation of what makes our industry so important! I literally have hundreds of people who are so blessed by my company and product. I understand as you do, there are good and bad in everything. Our industry is no different. I also agree there needs to be guidlines to protect all consumers and it seems to me that legitimate companies abide by such regulations! As an example my company teaches me proper business edicate and provides me with clear policies & proceedures. The problem with such sweeping restrictions (not regulation) is they will only hurt legitimate companies who of which most of the proposals outlined do not apply. I will not go thru all proposals except just one. The 7 day waiting period is one i understand the reason behind but it makes no sense. Xango for example is only $35 with full and generous return policies in place. How does a 7 day waiting period protect anyone from that? All legitimate companies have protections in place right now. It is obvious to me that more regulations will never stop fraudulant people or companies looking to scam people. I feel better education for the people is what makes more sense. This stops excited members from saying things that are wrong and stops people from getting scammed! I feel that if the FTC is getting complaints from legitamate companies, they need to be investigated on a per complaint basis. Companies like Herbal Life, Nuskin or Xango which are established companies, who donate millions to Charity and help so many people, with there products and business opportunity, new proposals seem to create a feeling of mistrust. These new proposals almost pigeon hole us with the criminal organizations you are trying to protect us from. I really feel that the industry is already regulated and these new proposals will only hurt innocent people like myself and my family and that is unfare! I find it difficult to expect legitimate established companies to comply even more to already strict regulations. These new proposals would literally affect negatively millions of people who bring so much value to others thru there products or business opportunity. Being Canadian, i know this letter will mean little but i felt it was important to express myself and stand up for the industry i love so much! An industry that was created in the spirit that makes the United States so Great! Thank you for your time and attention Kevin Kelso
