hi there, i'm writing this letter to give my perspective on the suggested rule ftc rule change that would impact me and my wife's quixtar business. i became part of this organization when i was single nearly 9 years ago and my wife came on board with me when we were married nearly 3 years ago. it is the best thing that could have happened for when i started as it gave me a better path in life with the opportunity it offered. it has significantly made my marriage better. what the rule change will threaten to do is to keep people out of this business because of the, what seems to me, ridiculous amount of unneccesary information that needs to be given. our business is not a fly by night business that is out to scam people or force them to do anything. we tell people up front what we are about and let them get as much or as little info as they feel they need to make an informed decision. i was never pressured or felt mislead when i started my business and have never felt mislead or taken advantage of since i've been in this business. this business is the only one that i've seen that gives any person, no matter background, education, age, or position in life, to become financially independent and an all around better person. whether a person chooses to do so is entirely up to them. this business improves lives outside of finances. it teaches the right morals and standards to help people become better people not for themselves for their community and country. by implementing all kinds of burdensome rules, you threaten to undermine what good has already been done and the immense amount of good that is to come. i appreciate the ftc wanting to make sure people aren't taken advantage of and to crack down on those that are trying to take advantage of people, but in this case a broad based rule will punish the businesses that are already doing it right. quixtar is one of those businesses. look at our track record and you tell me that we should be punished for a few bad apples out there. the last thing this country and business needs is more government intervention. have you talked to people that are part of this business? do you have any idea how our business works? i ask you to take a good hard look and to get all the facts before making a decision that will impact many lives. my wife and i love this business and will fight to keep it the way that it is because it is right and it is pure. my suggestion is to take a look at the organizations that have questionable marketing practices or those that are brand new in this type of business and make them prove themselves. if they can't meet a certain criteria then implement additional rules for the way they do business to protect the general public. once again, i say do not punish those who do not deserve to be punished. thanks for your time and i trust that you will gather all the facts before making your final decision. sincerely, howard and alexandra taylor quixtar ibo's
