I appreciate the efforts of the FTC to protect consumers against fraudulent practices. However, my direct selling business would be adversly impacted by several of the proposed rules. First, the 7-day waiting period will be very dampening to the enthusiasm of the newly recruited independant busienss owner. Have checked with my group and all say the same. We have a one month trial with a generous refund at the end for anyone who does not want to continue, no questions asked. Next, with over 500,000 dealers worldwide, there is no way to know why anyone has quit: Some have new, demanding jobs, some don't see results they want, some have short term goals that are met, some have changed circumstances. Next, the legal actions notification does not provide for why the action was taken, or by who, or the outcome. Our single product is very successful and patented. Some unscrupulous companies try to infringe the patent and have to have action taken. The outcome has, to my knowledge, always been favorable. I do not now of any lawsuits against individual owners or against the company by the owners. In addition, thereis no way in a world-wide company to get that kind of information and the raesons behind it. Finally, findingt he 10 nearest people in the area and giving their names, addresses and phone numbers to the prospective dealer is a gross violation of privacy and could lead to I.D. theft. We only know the people that we have recruited, not the rest. And those people are entitled to their privacy as well. I have only been in the business for less than a year. I appreciatethe extra money coming in to help supplement my income. I can only do the business part time because I also hae a full-tme job. I look forward to quitting that job as soon as my home-baed busines earns enough for me to do so. At 74, I really will appreciate being able to spend more time with my husband and family. That will be the greatest blessing that the business will give me. Pleae don''t take this business and product that have done so much for us and so many others and destroy it in the name of saving it. Thank you for letting me tell you our responses. I truly appreciate it.
