As an IBO of Quixtar, here is my experience of the business opportunity. I joined 4/05 and have one person in my downline. My goal is to earn more income in order to pay off debts and rebuild my financial health. I was shown a video, given some CDs to listen to, a website, and attended a meeting before I joined. A non-financial benefit is that I am meeting people in my team, and getting to know many people. Having been a caregiver for several years, and rather isolated, this is part of my healing. The individuals are from all walks of life. They are friendly, share their experiences and help me learn about the products and services. I feel supported in my business development. My sponsor's job is to help me grow my business, so I learn a lot from her and I don't have the pressure mastering all the skills needed at once. The 7 day waiting period: I don't find this a problem. So far, most people take their time to decide. I certainly did. I'd rather have someone join who really wants to, than someone who is acting on impulse and changes their mind later, or just fades away. The only downside to the 7 days is that there are various bonus point deadlines, and for those who are ambitious, the wait might prohibit their achieving that month's goal. I certainly knew this was not a get rich quick plan. And I certainly haven’t seen anyone say that and I don’t intend to. No business is. That’s a movie fantasy. I believe I was given a good introduction to the concept and how it works. The nuts and bolts comes afterwards. The requirement to provide references: It would NOT bother me to have prospective people give out my name and number. I believe we should be open, above board and welcome questions. Typically (and I did it) we invite prospective IBOs to attend a meeting where they can hear a talk and meet others. I found this VERY helpful because I got to see the quality of the individuals, ask questions and generally get an overall feel for the vitality of the membership. We do ask IBOs to not recruit from another person unless there has been a long gap ( I believe 6 months) between any contact from the former person and now. This is courteous. Requirement to provide a "Litigation List": I’m not convinced this is going to be useful. Litigation comes out of many issues, based on the dynamics of that era. It’s more about history than about what is essential now. And I believe that as long as the corporate office and every IBO is transparent, and communicates clearly and complies with the laws, then litigation should be a minimal risk. There is a book sent to every new IBO that explains all the rules about doing business the IBO way. It’s important that we read it and understand our legal responsibilities. That is here and now. The requirement for specific earnings disclosures: We are taught how the percentages of the bonuses are calculated. There is a calculator on line that allows you to determine what your bonus would be given 1-8 new IBOs or customers, and the amount of sales they generated. I would like a more sophisticated calculator, and that may come along later. Earnings also depends on the amount of time and effort put into the business. The more time you put in, the more likely you’ll see faster earnings than one who puts in half or less, of an effort. EACH business IBO is different. So that would have to be clearly understood. It is not an employment situation! I don’t have enough of an earnings to share with people yet. But I will be happy to share as I grow. But the prospective individual will have to understand that my income is based on my time and efforts. Like any business, each one is different. There may be a group of us as a team working together, but our incomes will differ substantially, based on how we develop the business. I hope this helps you.
