RE: Business Operations Rule R511993 I have been a Quixtar Independent Business Owner for 5 years now I appreciate their ability to teach people to have their own business and to keep costs low. They allow people to progress at own pace. They present an optimum way. It is up to me to follow thru. Back in the old “door-t-door” days I tried selling Holiday Magic cosmetics since found out an illegal pyramid. Also Celebrity Jewelry, too much of a luxury item, and Shaklee, but couldn’t teach my family to use their concentrated products so dropped out. Even tried raising hamsters in garage for pet trade YUK! I figure these experiences give me an overview to comment on possible new rules. 1. I don’t believe a waiting period is needed if a money back guarantee 2. A list of references infringes on privacy. I as a widow taking care of a grandchild don’t want my name given to people I’ve not met first. I met a woman I was about to invite to see biz then I found her boarder was a sex offender. Dropped her. 3. No use of listing Alleged fraud, too many people lie. Others don’t follow instructions, and then want to blame someone (some can’t even follow directions to get on web site for more info!) Proven guilty is different. 4. As to earnings, a statement of Average earning should be enough to start. They can come to workshop meeting to meet the people who are making more. 5. The info about fraud and risky businesses is already out there. People do not bother to check it. I had a nephew who went for one of the exchange money for me schemes from Nigeria! I’ve know of that one for over 3 yrs. It can be checked thru Snope’s but the flood of forwarded emails that are frauds show people don’t bother to look it up! 6. The Quixtar business has been very good about offering information and teaching tools, my Option to use. 7. Does a college have to tell people their investment of $5,000 to $20,000 may lead nowhere but a minimum wage job? 8. I use my profits to help with my granddgts.meds $800 a mo. for one.
