FTC: To Whom It May Concern; My wife and I have been affiliated with Quixtar, and specifically, the World Wide Group, within Quixar. From the start, we have saved money purchasing from Quixtar and have made money selling the products and services via the Internet and in person. We chose this business because of the credibility of our upline, World Wide, and Quixtar. I personally know Doug and Dick De Vos as well as the Jay Van Andel (now deceased). The people we work with did not ask for my resume, a background check on me, whether I was successful or if I had suffered a bankruptcy. They offered me an OPPORTUNITY for less than $200 and their HELP. My mentors and teachers and life coaches are now in my upline. They help me in all areas of my life, helping me and my wife and kids to achieve balance, to love and honor our country (and our leaders) and to grow in our affiliation with our church (what a great thing indeed!). My current "employer" on the otherhand, could care less about the 4th of July, celebrating free enterprise, has nothing to do with encouraging family values or God (except to use His name in vane). They hire and fire people like cattle, many have been bankrupt or arrested for DUI's, etc., and they are a public company. I was told upon being hired that I would earn $140K my first year; well, we're six months into the year and I'm not even close (approx 25% of the way, not $70K year to date)...My boss never gave his financials, nor did he disclose any arrests for the prior 10-years; There was no substantiation of what he earned, of what his boss earned, nor his lawsuits and legal claims from years past. Quixtar is an honest, legal, affordable business opportunity for me and those that I meet. My wife and I are proud of our business and our affiliation with the DeVos and Van Andel families. They encourage and empower us to be more, and to do more than we could ever achieve within the confines of a traditional work environment. We encourage and applaud a level playing field in which standardized income disclosures are given out and that a reasonable cancellation period is extended. However, a seven-day waiting period seems inappropriate. New IBO's want to get started and should be entitled to get started immediately if they so choose. Knowing that they can terminate at any time should alleviate this burdensome criteria. There is NOT EVEN a 7-DAY WAITING period to buy a half Million dollar home---Why NOT?? If prospective IBO's are not satisfied with the fact that Quixtar is a multi-Billion dollar, debt-free, privately held busines, with high D&B rating, then they don't have to sign up or join the business. IF someone is selling securities and has been convicted of fraud, then absolutely, they should be barred from the securities industry. If however, someone is investing barely $100 dollars and is not REQUIRED to invest a dollar more if they choose not to, then let's dispose with the added paper work, disclosures and financial records. No other business owners are subject to this unless they are buying or selling a business---and the related costs to do so are in the 10's of thousands of dollars. And, if someone is just starting a business, and has no prior business ownership, what records are they to produce? And whom can afford to have to have audited financials done by a CPA?? This alone would cause many to walk away from a legitimate business venture. Quixtar's current SA-4400 is given to all of our prospects and IBO's---many of which comment that it is out of date and too understated. All we ask is for a level playing field and for the ability to conduct business without all the encumbrances of a traditional brick/n/mortar business, without employees and with no ceiling for income.Quixar/Amway has been and will always be a great opportunity for the masses. And to my knowledge, they have been and will always support the FTC. Exercise GOOD judgement. Thank You
