I have a business associated with first Amway and now Quixtar. I have not made real personal effort to expand my business since the first year but I have gotten a bonus check every month and the business group continues to expand. I do teach and supply my entire organization. Those who follow the business plan are all making money. re:proposed changes to business opportunity rules: 1. Rigorously enforce existing rules. I just heard of another scam about downloading music. Pay $500 to sign up. Not good. It only costs about $50 to sign up with Quixtar and even that is refunded within 30 days upon request. I have never had a request for a refund. 2. I cannot imagine how anyone could be certain to present all the lawsuits and claims made against Quixtar and the independent business owners for the past ten years. The internet has plenty of those kinds of allegations. It seems to me that the few court cases that are actually heard are resolved in favor of the corporation. The existing cancellation policy seems adequate although I have never known anyone to cancel. I did encourage one person to cancel because he did not even buy anything let alone build a business. I even wrote the letter for him requesting cancellation. He never would cancel but he did not renew after the year was up. 3. About disclosing my personal gains or income. I object to that as a matter of personal privacy. I used to show my bonus checks to new contacts but stopped doing that because the new person might be more motivated than me or less motivated than me so my bonus check is no indicator of what their earnings might be. Better to simply outline the realistic potential. 4. A seven day waiting period to sign up is a real handicap to the new business. Anyone who is motivated can build enough of a business in the first seven days to earn a bonus check in the first month. I did that and all of the business builders in business with me have done that. I hope these comments help. If you personally signed up as a Quixtar IBO with support from the World Wide Group you would then know what an honest business opportunity is like and you could better pursue the fly by night schemes that seem to keep coming.
