To whom it may concern, I am writing in regards to the business opportnuity rule. I started my direct sells business 4 1/2 years ago. I have been happily married for nine years with three beautiful boys. When I started my Arbonne business we didn't have much money at all. We were struggling paycheck to paycheck. I loved that I could start my business with a $29 fee and then earn my other products by having a class and selling products. At first I just wanted to make an extra $200-$500 a month to help pay down our debt, but soon realized that the more people I helped the more money I was able to make. SInce starting my business my husband and I stay at home with out children and help other families to live their dreams. I have worked so incredibly hard alongside of my other team members to do the "right" thing. We are more ethical than most corporations I have seen out there. We are truley helping people. Since Arbonne came into our life, I was financially able to write a children's book that I have traveled all over the country where I have read to children in the Bronx to children with cancer in hospitals to battered women and children in shelters. My team and I are getting ready to build "Habitat for Humanity" homes as well as many of my teams volunteer for numerous charities because of the flexibility our business allows us. I can't even put into words the way my life has changed. My husband once said when asked "How has this opportunity changed your lives"? My husband replied "My wife has become the women I always knew she could be". I am asking that you please do not act upon the business opportunity rule. It will cause negativity across the board. People will get disouraged, people will not see the opportunity they have before them, because all they will see is that it's too hard, too complicated. We live in America. home of the free! I agree that there are people that may mis-represent themselves or an opportunity, but by far there are way more people doing alot of great things then there are of people not being ethical. Alot of people are excited about he business right away. They like to jump right in and get started. Your suggested resolution would cause major delays and would dramatically hurt our businesses. In regards to disclosing lawsuits. This is unfair. People will only be able to see the difference between the ones that we have won "vs" the ones that have been lost. This new act would be very unfair to all the companies that are doing the right thing. We are helping people to live healthier, happier lives becuase we really do care about them. Please don't penalize those of us that are doing the right thing becuase of those that can only get ahead by being un-truthful and fraudulant. I can only speak for my company but we are a company of high integrity and compassion for our people. We are helping people and seeing their strengths! My mother is a vice president on my team. At the age of fifteen she had me. We spent most of our lives living in a car or in intolerable places, surrounded by abusive fathers, drugs and alcohol. We have both build this business from scratch and we both wake up every morning excited about who we can help that day. Without this opportunity the way it is I am afraid we could lose what we have worked so hard for. Thank you for your time. Christy Dreiling
