Having been involved in many small business activities throughout my 66 years I fully appreciate the need for tighter rules and regulations to protect the public from all of the scams that exist in the market today. My greatest concern is in how to accomplish that without damaging those honest and legitament business that are not only providing a great opportunity for the new agent but an honest and much needed service for the public as well. I am proud to be part of such a company which not only allows the average citizen the balance of power by giving him equal access to the legal system but also provides excellent protection including full recovery from Identity theft. We at PrePaid Legal work hand in hand with you at the FTC and as you may be aware we are a New York Stock Exchange Company with 33 years of experience. Our company is founded upon the principles of honesty and fair business dealings both within and out of our organization. The initial introduction to a prospective member is important to convey this honest and sincere feeling which it is my belief would be greatly damaged if in the initial comments I had to provide negative information about former lawsuits, which in each case I understand were without substance. Attorney General for the State of Utah, Mark Shurtleff, is one of our members and speaks very highly of us as does many of the Attorney Generals of other states. He has spoke a number of times at our meetings and shared the stage with some of our leaders. Although he is only a member now, he has told us he plans on joining the sales force when his term in office ends. These Attorney Generals are the ones that go after the pyramid schemes, illegal businesses, as well as drug traffic and other criminal activity. They are probably the very best referral sources that we can offer. Hopefully as you commit to your finale draft of this much needed regulation you will write it in such a way where businesses like ours that are performing an honest and much needed service for this country will not be damaged.
