Business Opportunity Rule, R511993" My name is Don Capoferri I have been a Quixtar IBO since since 1999 and an Amway Distributor prior to that. My background is health care as a Doctor of Chiropractic for more than 24 years. Our Quixtar business has generated a great deal of additional income for us for the last 9 years. Our business has allowed us to reduce works hours, spend more time with our 3 children and take many vacations we would not have been able to enjoy otherwise. Our next goal for our Quixtar business is to replace my personal income and retire from full time practice and work my Quixtar full time. We I was introduced to the business I feel that I was given more than enough information to make a quality decision as to my own involvement. As I register others in my Quixtar business I always I always provide the same level of information I received as well as encourage prospects to meet our local team and ask them questions. In addition any money invested in registeration is refundable for 12 months if they decide to leave the business. Below our specific areas of concern to my business: 7 day waiting period: This proposed rule to negatively effect my business and it growth by slowing down the new IBO start up process. New IBOs often register family members and close friends within 7 days of beginining there own business. In addition we in effect have a 12 month money back period because anyone registering can recieve their mony back for registeration as well as products purchased with in 12 months of starting. Reference Rule: We mostly already provide references by recommending that prospcts attend a prospect meeting prior to registeration. How ever all geographic areas do not allow for that and some register prior to attending. The proposed rule would slow our growth especially in those areas of the country. Also, giving out the names and phone numbers of other IBOs would violate some privacy issues. Litagation Rule: When Walmart hires a new employee are they required to show them the huge list of law suits filed against Walmart? Many suits have no merit to them and others are simply disbutes between individual IBOs with no impact to the enitre business. A prospect can get related information on the Better Business Bureau website. Financial Disclosures: Each new prospect is provided a form called the SA4400 that breaks down specific earning potientials and the probability of acheiving those levels. Providing my specific income information in not a reflection of what another IBO can earn with their efforts and results. What I have accomplished should not limit the goals of a new IBO. My Quixtar business has made a very positive impact on my lifestyle and that of my family and we are excited about sharing the same potential with others. Thank you for your efforts in keeping our industry honest and ethical but the proposed bill R511993 in its present form would unfairly restrict my ability to grow and expand my business and meet my business goals.
