My wife and I have been Amway/Quixtar IBO's since May 1997. We became involved through our children who lived in California at the time. They have since dropped out of the Amway/Quixtar program, but still use the products, which we provide for them as they need them. When we started to build our business, we found that not all of our prospects had the same goals as we did. We also found out very soon, that they also did not have the motivation. We have not attempted to build our business to the levels that we are capable of. We decided to focus more on customer service because we enjoy using the products and enjoy servicing the hundreds of people in the community that call and ask for products that they are familiar with and have used for years. We have only missed a bonus check once since we committed to Amway/Quixtar in May 1997. That was our decision at the time and had no bearing on our commitment to the business. We do not hesitate to tell our clients and members of the business opportunity available to them, but we do not pressure them to take advantage of the same. Judye and I believe that our customers (friends) rely on us to give them the best products available to them and at a reasonable price. We occassionally will have a longstanding customer leave us because of cost/price issues, but never because of bad products or service. We find that after we call and discuss their issues, we do get their business back. Our advice or guidance to new IBO's or recruits to Quixtar would be primarily to use the products and services first and then, if satisfied with their worth and value, full steam ahead. Follow your leadership (upline) and build your business. This is not a get rich quick scheme or pyramid as so many misguided folks would like to portray it to be. We have never felt during the nine years that we have been involved with Amway/Quixtar that we "have to perform" or meet specific goals. We know that if we do not meet certain standards, i.e., PV/BV levels, we will not receive a bonus check based on business volumne. I am a retired Army Major with over 21 years active duty service and more than 25 years working in the private sector. Both my wife and I were actively involved in close contact, customer related jobs. I was the manager of a local glass company for nearly 14 years and Judye was the office administrative assistant for a very successful local sign businesses for seven years before she retired. We both became burnt out with the hectic pace required to not only maintain our daily schedules, but also some semblence of normalcy in our private lives. Both businesses were multi-million annual operations. We both had to perform (jump hoops) for our bosses in order to meet their standards for that particular period. We both feel that the Quixtar opportunity is one of the best home based business opportunities available to both singles and married folks at the present time. What you sow is what you reap. Prospects for any business will only earn what they are willing to invest (time, effort and willingness to learn) from any endeavor. This factor is true of any business opportunity. Each of our eight children have learned this axiom over the years after they left the family nest. Two of them are active in Quixtar and four others use products and services on a regular basis. Please consider allowing Quixtar and other business opportunities like Quixtar to continue to operate under existing rules. Free enterprise is one of the cornerstones of our national heritage and should not be smothered by oppressive rules and regulations. Allow folks to make a decision based on their own judgement. Martin Luther King said it best ---- "I HAVE A DREAM" ----. Let folks have a dream, be it wealth, security, friendships, personal relationships or just plain fun! Thanks for hearing us out.
