Since becoming an IBO with Quixtar in 2001, I have been impressed with the corporation and the opportunity. The proposed changes/requirements do cause some concern. While I have not achieved any great level of financial success, it is entirely due to my lack of effert. I feel that the proposed changes/requirements will cause some drastic negative impacts on the building of my business as well as others. When I was shown the plan, I was given more than enough information as to what the plan was and how it worked. I realized that this is definately not a "get rich quick" scheme and that it took hard work and determination. At no point did I feel I was being taken advantage of. When I show the business opportunity to prospects, they understand that anything worth having is worth working towards and this opportunity is no different. The business takes hard work and dedication in order to succeed. I let them know that it is impossible to cover a complete business plan in the short time we spend together on the first visits. At the same time, I inform them of the BDS (Business Development Seminars) that are held monthly and they can and will get a better understanding of the business and the type of people involved. I also inform them that at any time they feel the BDS was not worth the investment, they can get a full refund of the purchase price. On the topic of a seven day waiting period, I have a large concern on this. When I was shown the business opportunity, my sponser came back 2 days later to cover any questions my wife and I had as well to cover the information again. I feel that any longer than 2 days and the prospect is back to what I call "doom and gloom" attitude. Our society is so focused on the negative and depressing that when something posative comes along like this business, the excitement does not last much more than 2 days. At that point, they are thinking "that will not work, I can't do that, so on and so on". I feel that most people today do not think they can achieve anything signifigant and they slip back into the negative environment shown in the media. They then are stuck in the "rut" with no way out. The seven day waiting period would only stop good people from achieving their hopes and dreams that would otherwise not be possible. And lastly, the rule of giving references. I feel that giving names of IBO's personall information would be a total infringement of privacy. What if they person is a police officer, a public officer, etc. how would they feel if their personal information was given out to complete strangers. The "stranger/prospect" would have the ability to contact them without knowing who they are or where they stand with the business. A decision to join a business like this should not be based upon a short conversation with a total stranger who they do not know or have no vested interest with them. I hope these points are taken in the manner in which they are intended. Which is to continue IBO's to build their business in a way that is within the guidelines and not to be "burdened" with unnecessary requirements that would only stymie the growth and posative impact of those around them. Sincerely, David J. Batton
