To whom it may concern: My name is Thomas S. Eck and I am Disabled due to ongoing spinal surgeries and must work from home. At the end of 2003 my doctors informed me that my Union Sheet Metal Career was finished. This was a job I preformed and loved for 25 years. My only chance at the time was to work from home where I could rest as often as I needed to ease pain from these surgeries. I chose an on line home based business in the Health and Wellness industry. The companies computer system handled at least 80% of my business in the beginning until I could figure out how the whole business worked. with much determination I made sale right away. Like anything, it takes time to learn. Without my business, I would have no purpose or meaning to my life, the personal development alone has made me a better person. The public respects the efforts of the FTC to protect consumers from fraud, but in doing so with this new rule will greatly affect the legitimate direct selling businesses and their privacy rights. Also asking for 10 close references is very difficult if the members you sign up are from all over the World. Not to mention the people that work this business as a hobby just so it pays for their products each month. Please, reconsider this rule and try to study different options to help the new consumers. This Business is all I have to keep me focused and make friends, I can't go out much. Thank You for you time.
