Comments:
Re Business Opportunity Rule R511993 Would have a devastating affect on an industry that provides an opportunity for 13.6 million individuals to earn a living and/or prepare for a decent retirement. The requirement to invade the privacy of 10 geographically nearest purchasers seems excessively invasive and would only impact legitimate companies. Fraudulent companies will just falsify information. Regarding the proposed waiting period, legitimate companies have a liberal return and/or cancellation policy. Disclosing cancellations and refunds implies that the customers cancelling were mislead or dissatisfied. Companies that have a liberal return/cancellation policy are being punished. The proposed rule will only hurt legitimate companies and substantially increase cost to the consumer. Folks like myself that depend on income from the legitimate companies I work with will have a devastating loss of income.
