As a home based bussiness owner I find that the FTC's new proposal will be a detrement to my work.I am a homemaker with 3 children,I also have a disibility.Working from home allows me to contribute to my family in a way that gives me a sence of confidence.I now am able to help my husband .Direct selling has given me the opprotunity to dig deep in myself to prove that I can acheive like others.I am developing public speeking and presentation skills,confidence.To someone like me ,this job has given my life back. Although I do express appreciation for customer protection, The impact on legitimate direct selling companies would suffer the most. Understand that there are fraudulent groups out there,but this particular rule unfairly targets legitimate direct selling businesses.The 7 day waiting period would cast a negitive light,effect record keeping,unnecessary delays and is impractical. Elimination of the $500 business threshold froces the majority of direct selling companies to comply with other provisions of the proposed rule that are more appropriate for businesses requiring a greater investment than a direct selling kit. I find impracticality of finding th "10 nearest existing sales people".Also brings into play privacy and safty issues as well as possible corporate liability for ID theft.
