June 20, 2006 Federal Trade Commission Wash. DC Dear Sirs; I am writing in regards to “Business Opportunity Rule R511993”. I know you are looking out for our best interest but you’re misunderstanding a few key concerning items of your list. My husband and I are part of a great MLM company; XanGo, LLC and we are concerned that this law will change they way we make a living! We are concerned as this is how our family eats! This is how we make ends meet! Here a just a few of my fears with this law; 1. Many times we sell our product to people that live out of town, how are we to know who else in their surrounding area has bought this product? This is impractical!!!! 2. For us to have them to wait seven days before signing a contract for a product to be delivered to their house while they are driving/flying home. This is just not necessary. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on our product! I have been in Network Marketing for 20 years and this is not practical for any type of direct sales. We go to One Day and Weekend Expos, Home shows, Work Fairs, and State Fairs. 3. This law also makes it look like we are all out to scam everyone! 4. The part about reporting all litigation is at best disconcerting…where is the part that who told the truth…who won and what was the outcome and why….. 5. With ID theft as high as it is, you’re asking us to disclose/find the “10 nearest sales people” to them? What about privacy issues and safety issues. We already have road rage, what about revenge when someone told a neighbor no but bought the same product from a stranger? Please look again at the reasons you “need” this law. We can do without it! We would like you to reconsider this action. It is not necessary or in the best interest of our economy. Direct sales is a large division of your tax base and essential to our personal livelihood. Sincerely, Wayne and Bobbie Whary
