To Whom it may concern, I am greatly disheartened by the proposals of Business Opportunity Rule R511993. I for the first time in my life thought I could be in business for myself and just as I do this proposal threatens the very existence of that possibility. While I earn a living as Registered Nurse I have found in my direct sales business a way to empower others in my community and feel I can continue to be in business long after I decide to retire from Nursing. Not only will I continue to be a tax payer I will be able to encourage those that might not enter the workforce to do so. I do believe in some of the positive changes attempted by this proposal especially protecting the public from dishonest people but does it have to be done in a way that will punish those of us that are honest? I am a law abiding citizen and find that the listed measures that I would have to take to be able to continue my new business would be a great burden and most likely I will have to quit. Of great concern is the seven day waiting period to enroll new consultants in my business. The public buy items that cost much more than the start up of my business and they are not made to wait 7 days, I don't see how this is fair. I have never been involved in lititagion but find that just being mentioned as being part of any litigation even if the company was deemed innocent purveys a negative connotation to the public and is therefore again unfair. I don't mind giving references with the permission of my customers but I don't think disclosing the personal information of any customer is a wise business decision especially without enough protection against identity theft. I think this business proposal will only serve to end the aspirations of persons like myself to be in business for themselves. I hope this proposal will be re-thought and re-written in a way that protects the public and allows direct sellers to continue to practice their business. I have found that direct sells is more than making money with the company I am with; empowerment and prosperity are key benefits of this business which is a welcome addition to ANY community. I appreciate consideration of my input and hope it gives pause to a decision that affects the public in more ways than one. Thank you, Charlotte Adams
