I am writing today to oppose the Business Opportunity Rule, R511993. I began my business just 3 short months ago and I feel that XanGo, LLC has given me an opportunity of a life time. For a mere $35.00 investment I am able to take the ball and run with it. It is up to me to decide how high is high and to know that my hard work and efforts will mean I reap the benefits, not someone else sitting behind a desk, pushing me. I completely understand the reasoning behind the FTC's Mission however, let me say "Don't cripple the legitimate direct selling Companies, when trying to weed out the bad!" For once in my life I know that my hard work will make the return to me and not some else. My direct selling plan would be devastated if I had to follow the seven day waiting period. My current program does not allow me to re-visit an individual over and over. I have a great program in place, which allows me the opportunity to inform an individual of our program and allow them the opportunity of attending an informative session at which time I give them the wonderful opportunity of becoming a distributor, just as I was given. It would be totally impractical to have to add another step in this process by waiting seven days. My business in no way puts pressure on the potential distributor to make any decision on the spot but does allow them to make a business decision about their future, when they choose, not when the FTC feels it is time for the individual to decide. My business allows me to travel and meet individuals and talk with them about opportunity. I could not afford to re-visit these same individuals seven days later to sign them up. I whole heartily know that XanGo, allowing me to become a distributor, for a mere $35.00, is the reason that I am in business today. Many hard working individuals today could not afford the proposed $500.00 fee therefore, not allowing them the opportunity to work for themselves and have the American Dream of being a business owner. Today, you don't have to have money to make money! XanGo, should be praised for what it has done for so so many individuals out there. Please do not take this from XanGo, or better yet from the American People. It would be unfair to have Companies report all litigation without allowing them the opportunity to elaborate on the out comings. Even the Better Business Bureau reports the out come of complaints. Many people today are looking to make the mighty dollar by litigation and not by hard work and effort. This would be insane to require all litigation whether legitamite or not be reported. I personally do not support the "10 nearest existing sales people". I do not want my competitors calling on me to hear my sales pitch or learning about my product deceptively. If you are running an illegitimate Company you will make sure that you have your 10 people staged and ready. This will not deter a criminal minded Company. You can pay actors to do whatever you ask of them for money. Let me close by saying that I know there are many many Companies out there trying to take advantage of innocent people but please do not take from me the opportunity of a lifetime by crippling my business, when trying to stop fraudulent Companies. Thank You! Amy Carpenter
