I would like to comment on the 7 day waiting period that is being proposed. I can understand why you would want such a safe guard in place but I believe that in a business such as ours it is unnecessary. In the state of Colorado a person who enters a contractual agreement of any kind has three business days to cancle the contract if they should change their minds. This is sufficent time to consider the decision that has been made. In a business like Partylite it would only delay product orders and complicate the great customer service that we consultants provide. If the 7 day waiting period is found to be needed it should be made to be optional. Not every new consultant needs that much time to decide. If a consultant changes their minds nothing happens to them. This is a business that does not require any start up costs when the prospective consultants has a $350 stater show. So most consultants are not out any money if they change their minds about being a consultant. In fact Partylite doesn't even require them to return the kit or any free product they may have received with their starter show. I also would like to address the addition of the 10 references which is also being considered. The informaiton that is provided to a prospective consultant is very detailed and informative. Prospective consultants are invited to attend informational meetings where they have the opprotunity to meet other consultants in their region. Most of our regional informational meeting have an attendence of 50 or more active consultants. Prospective consultants have the opprotunity to exchange informaion witht the active consultants and ask questions about the business and how the other consultants like what they do. So giving 10 names and addressess of local active consultants is not necessary. Most unit leaders provide an address and phone list of the other consultants in their unit to the new and prospective consultants anyway. Thank you for your consideration of these issues and how they affect our Partylite business. Sincerely, Christine Romkee
