I have been an independent consultant with PartyLite Gifts for 12 years and a public school teacher for 34 years. As a teacher with a master's degree and 34 years of teaching experience I have been able to almost double my income my holding in home PartyLite shows 2-3 times a week with the wonderful people of Central Ohio. I have been able to use my personal and teaching skills to enhance the lives of many in our area by helping them to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their families buy selecting and burning candles at home. Our company provides the BEST quality candle in the world to my customers. I have also grown as a mature individual thru this experience. I believe the 7 day waiting period is too long as it casts lieitimate direct sellers as myself in a negative light - created record keeping and administrative challenges and penalizes people from startng their own businesses when they're ready. The need to provide references creates an even bigger problem with privacy including the unpracticality of continually obtaining updates from PartyLite regarding identities and contact information from 10 consultants closest tothe prospective Consultant. I conclusinon I appreciate the FTC attempt to protect but I believe these new regulations would negatively impact legitimate businesses like PartyLite and consultants like me. Thanks, Connie Cline
