Re: FTC's "Business Opportunity Rule" R511993 (16CFR Part 437) We respectully request your help to halt the FTC process. My family has been in networking for over 10 years. We got involved with direct sales because we could not afford the fees for a conventional franchise. For as little as $35 we could own a business of our own. The knowledge network marketing has given me cannot be compared. Learning to especially understand people, their needs and provide a legitimate service is very rewarding. Having a network marketing company has helped in paying our everyday bills. We appreciate the FTC's concern to protect people but the impact the ruling will have on legitimate direct selling companies will be devastating. We know that there are fraudulent groups out there. The fradulent groups will not pay any attention to any ruling. So in effect the ruling only hurts the legitimate direct selling businesses like ours. Since joining the XanGo company our health has improved from taking the product as well as additional income. We have never been pressured by anyone about a product or a business opportunity. Our daughter had her second bout with uterine precancerous cells and after drinking XanGo for 3 weeks, the doctor couldn't find the bad cells. We have many personal testamonies but space does not let us tell everything. The proposed Seven day period will give an individual the impression that direct marketing is something shady and would not be a good business to participate in. The paperwork involved would be astronomical. The elimination of the $500 business threshold would force direct marketing companies to comply with provisions which are more for businesses and franchises which require a much greater investment other than a direct selling sales kit. The Earnings Claims part would be very difficult for us to retrieve as a legitimate company. The Fly by night fraudulent companies will only provide inaccurate data. They are only here for the quick buck and will do whatever illegal process it takes to make it quickly. Legitimate direct marketing companies are here for the long haul. Some companies have been around for over 40 years. We are extremely worried about providing data on the "10 nearest existing sales people". The privacy and safety issues alone are enormous not to mention a possibility of Identy Theft" Fradulent companies and people could approach a legitimate company just to obtain records to be used deceitfully. Not a good idea. We hope you see that this ruling will only hurt the legitimate companies in direct marketing. Please halt the Business Opportunity Rule R511993 (16CFR Part 437). Thank You. Morris D.
