My husband and I have had a direct selling business for two years that has helped augment our income when his business is slow. It has also helped us in personal growth and meeting many wonderful people. The FTC is important in protecting us from fraud, but I am very concerned about the impact the Business Opportunity Rule R511993 (1CFR part 437) would have on our small business. I look at my business just like advertising for a large company, I look for the right audience, get the information to them. and let them make up their minds. If I saw all the forms to fill out on a bill board for signing up at Sam's Club or Costco to buy my product at wholesale, I would never buy from them. And it is the same cost to register as they are. I don't want to wait 7 days to buy my milk that I am out of now! Also, I find it very disturbing that my personal information would be disclosed to the next ten people who just want my information! What a hot spot for unscrupulous people! I could go on, but I implore you to look at all the ramifications to legitimate direct selling businesses this would cause. Sincerely, Karen Marcomb
