|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 437|
Comments:Current regulations clearly define the differences between legitimate and fraudulant business practices. Please stop attempting to force a ridiculous burden of red tape and unneccessary paperwork on legitimate business people and focus on enforcing the existing laws on the books. It's really not very difficult to recognize fraud and deceptive business practices even for the average citizen. The percentage of people injured from unethical business practices is extremely small compared to the number of people working legitimate businesses. If this legislation passes it will slow the business efforts to a crawl of hundreds of thousands of honest business people. It will virtually dump a load of paperwork and forced accounting responsibilities on individuals that already have a full plate.This proposed legislation is equivalent to burning a house down to exterminate a mouse. This 'Business Opportunity Rule' is nothing short of harrassment of a directly targeted segment of legitimate American business. If the true spirit of the FTC is to protect the interests of American citizens from detrimental and unwarranted expenditures then work on some legislation to prohibit private and goverment sponsored lotteries.
