RE: Business Opportunity Rule, R511993 I am here to aire my views about this new rule: I have been in business for 2 years and there is nothing else i can compare to when I feel the freedom that I got from my business. I joined this business when a freind called me and told me its health benefits. within 24 hrs of getting the information I joined without having to spend a fortune to start up. I now have my freedom I am my own boss I have health freedom and I am enjoying the fulfilment ans sense of acoumplishmwent that I am feeling as i am running this business from the comfrot of my home. I want to express my sencere appreciation for FTC’s consumer protection priorities, but I also have some concerns on its impact on legitimate direct selling companieslike XANGO.I also understand that there are fraudulent groups out there, but this particular rule unfairly targets legitimate direct selling businesses. The Seven-day waiting period, casts the direct selling plan in a negative light Who would want to wait that long just because someone has ro regulate the time when I get started. It's going to take away our freedom to do waht we feel is best for us whenever we feel like. This is a land of the brave and the free. This is ging to limit our freedom as people who are looking for oportunities to make our lives better. There is a high probability that there will be record keeping and administrative problems. I wold have keep all the information os the peopl I talk to for seven days and the sign them all up at once. Thats a lot of pressure on me as a leader. if I sign up these peole as the come ,I will have all the time to coach them so they can start to produce results as soonas they get the concept. I see it almost impossible to effectvely train 10 people to get them off their feet all at once. If I can train one person at a time I see more productivity and more freedom on my part a s a leader developing leaders. These delays are also unnecessary delays. Why wait when you have all the information to move ahead and be somewhere with your business. In a nutshell this rule is so impractical. Elimination of the $500 business threshold,forces the majority of direct selling companies to comply with other provisions of the proposed rule that are more appropriate for businesses requiring a greater investment than a direct selling sales kit. Direct selling is for people who want to help people. It is for people who do have the heart to be successful but do not have millions to buy a McDonalds franchise just for example. The average American is the one we are targeting. They want to be finacnially free but they do not have millions of dollars to start a business. So the low startup cost is going to help whosoever will, to be successful and to change their lifestle and this will also increase the tax dollars. The more the income the more the tax money and a richer America. Litigation Reporting is unfair in that it does not distinguish between winning and losing lawsuits. There is irrelevance of the reporting of almost all litigation regardless of the outcome. Earnings Claims makes it difficult to collect required data and alsothe targeted “bad actors” will not provide accurate data, while legitimate companies will. It is not going to help the legitimate companies but its going to help all the bad ones to cheat the public the more. References provew to show a high rate of impracticality of finding the “10 nearest existing sales people”. This is going to infringe in our privacy and safety. We have the right to privacy so giving refrences is infringing on that right.These is also a possible corporate liability for ID theft. Please protect us fromthe bad guys. let us make life easy for anyone to get cofidentil information in the name of getting references. I forsee a rapid rise in crimes because of this freedom to private information. It can be used against us instead for us. Thank you for seriously considering my comments Chipo A happy camper.
