I have been involved in several MLM companies over the last 16 years and believe some of the changes the FTC is proposing are unnecessary. I do believe a requirement that there are no guaranteed results regarding any particular persons success or income should be required. For the waiting period however, I believe a three (3) day period would be appropriate. I am in the Mortgage business and a three day period is required for loan refinances which are certainly much larger financial obligations than joining an MLM business. As for the other areas proposed I don't believe refund rates are relevant for any business. If this is regulated than shouldn't all department stores and other retail business have to show this on each product? Seems fair if this rule passes. We just need to have rules in place to give people a fair shake, not scare the heck out of them. I've never made much money in MLM and currently simply just buy the products and have to plan to make money at it. But many folks have worked hard and made a nice income. No one makes a lot of money in any legal MLM company who doesn't work their butt off! Hope my input is helpful. Please contact me at if you have any questions regarding my remarks.
