Comments:
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing in response to the proposed New Business Opportunity Rule R511993. I am opossed to the seven day waiting period to sign up a person with a company. Although it may be well meaning, it implies that the business opportunity that I present, is deceptive. It is an infringement of my liberty, yet another imposition of government. This new rule will likely reduce the number of prospects that become part of my business. It will make many people more wary of home-based operators. I, for one, would like the opportunity to make the decision for myself, whether I sign up for a new business in a day, or months. That decision will be mine, and I will be accountable for the risk. In addition, this new rule will have every network marketer relying on legal counsel. This will likely hinder many, since legal fees are far too much for the typical earner. Why would I want to invest my money into a business that will hold a distributer liable at any time for inaccuracy? I am only recently looking at network marketing for additional income, where I can be home-based. Reading of this proposal puts more restraints on our freedom. I am doubtful that this rule will stop those that commit fraud. Sincerely, Lori Tingey
