As a direct sales consultant, I must plea that you do not rule in favor of Business Opportunity Rule, Matter No. R511993, which will threaten my business and livelihood. Please understand that everyone I work with in Taste of Home Entertaining presents the business opportunity in an ethical manner. They do not give a falsely optimistic impression of the business opportunity but rather discuss the effort involved in getting a strong start in the business. Each prospective consultant has a potential for immediate income that grows in proportion to effort applied to the business. We explain this fact to anyone who may be interested in the opportunity. I believe that as a whole, the direct sales business is not over-promising, but many business owners and consultants are not willing to put forth the effort required to achieve the desired results. That fact is why so many new businesses end in disappointment regardless of the type of business. Please do not stifle the growth of successful and ethical businesses, because a minority of the direct sales businesses are not being properly managed. Feel free to contact me via phone at 281-920-2036 or via e-mail at hbain@sbcglobal.net. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Heather Bain
