I am strongly opposed to this proposed rule. I have been a Shaklee distributor for more that 33 years. Because I love the products, which have kept me very healthy, and I promote and sell them and offer the business opportunity, I am able to earn extra income on a part-time basis. This proposed rule would make doing my business unduly burdensome and make it extremely difficult to continue making any new customers, who sign up as business builders or members mainly to purchase products at a discount. I understand the need to protect people from unscrupulous and dishonest vendors, but this proposed rule goes much too far--to the point that it could put many businesses out of business. Plus, it is more unfair toward companies that have been in business for many years. I am also concerned about the serious personal privacy issues that all the disclosures proposed would raise. Please redo this proposed rule to safeguard the public but to make it fair to legitimate, honest businesses and their distributors.
