Dear Federal Trade Commission Member, I am writing to you regarding your proposed regulations for those of us in the direct selling business. I am a PartyLite Leader and have been working in this business for 5 years. In that ime, I have been able to build an income that allows me to be home with my 3 children and husband when they need me. Before I started PartyLite , I was a Registered Respiratory Therapist for 13yrs. In all those years when my children were sick or had some kind of special program going on, I always had to worry about conflict in schedules. I know that you understand how frustrating it can be when your child is sick or even excited about something great going on in their lives , but you aren't able to be a part of that due to having a job that doesn't allow room for such things. PartyLite has given my family the answer we were looking for, the chance to be there when mom's are most needed. What I love most about this business is that I am able to offer others the same chance I was given. In addition, I have brought many people into this business, who have also been able to use this opportunity to support themselves and their families. The regulations you are planning would make it incredibly difficult to introduce anyone to this opportunity. One of the best things about this business is that anyone can start this business and be earning money within a timeframe of two weeks. Most people join PartyLite wanting and often needing to earn money right away, and your proposal would make them wait even longer, In addition, I cannot see myself sharing private information about other PartyLite Consultants and I certainly would not want my private information shared without my consent. Please reconsider your proposals to regulate legitimate, professional direct sellers like me.
