I have been a PartyLite Consultant for 15 years. and I am highley concerned about the FTC Rul #511993. I can personally tell you that when I joined PL it was to earn $600 in two weeks to pay for a bathtub for my house remodel. I then saw the potential in earnings and am now over 75% of our family household income. Had this 7 day waiting period been in place, I would not have had the opportunity that I was given. And truthfully, the proposed process would have stop me from starting a business that has benefited myself and my family for over 15 years. I have incredible Concern on references. This would violate my privacy and my consultants privacy. This information chances on a daily if not hourly basis and would be a book keeping nightmare. I do need to say that my husband can not get information about me, why would PL be able to distribute my information to a prospective consultant in my area. It would be a personal hinderance to my businsess and my personal privacy. I want to say that I appreciate the FTC's goal...I am a consumer and a business operator. And I do not want people out ther harming anyone! With that said -- I believe that this proposed regulation would negatively impact myself as a legitimate independant consultant and in turn would take away my families income. I do hope that you understand again that I appreciate your goal...but please know that there are companies out there like PartyLite that practice legitmate business. Thank you for reading my comments.
