<hr><P><b>Comments:</b></p>While it is good that the FTC and federal government work to ensure that claims of a product (be it a building or whatever) is 'green', whatever results should not discourage the continued development of more environmentally friendly and sustainable products and practices.


Particularly in the green building area, there are several rating systems that exist and an ANSI level standard is currently being developed by ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) that will provide a distinguishing differentiation as to if a building were truly 'green'.  The general marketplace recognizes these rating systems already.


I am the incoming chair of the ASHRAE technical committee on green buildings as well as a voting member of the committee writing the proposed ASHRAE Standard 189.1 on high performance, green buildings.</body></html>
