I am in agreement with the FTC's proposed rules concerning the alcohol industry. The alcohol industry has and spends millions of dollars every year in advertising. They do it in such a way as to attract young people's attention to their beverage. I do not think that they should advertise in magazines geared to youth and children. I do not like to see alcohol advertising in college sports stadiums. There is already so much drinking in college activities and binge drinking is killing a alot of students. When they see and hear alcohol products highly advertised, made to look appealing, they are naturally curious and want to try what is advertised. I would like to see all alcoholic advertising taken off of TV, no drinking portrayed in any shows that the youth watch, including movies, and no alcoholic advertising done in any sporting events. The alcohol industry needs to be closely monitored and held accountable for the advertising done, and any illegal activity needs to be reported. I hope the federal government and also the state governments can get the excise tax on alcohol raised. The places that sell to underage drinkers need to be fined and their liquor license taken away from them. We need a better way of tracking adults that buy and give to underage youth, such as for a party. I am in favor of the strictest laws that can be made and enforced concerning the alcohol industry and their advertising policies.
