Being the signifacant other to a FASD man I see the advertisements on the internet as another form of peir pressure to a mind that is very suseptable to peir pressure. I also see it as a condoning of the continued practice of drinking at any age and time. FASD is caused by women drinking while pregnant thus robbing the child of vital fluids to develop the brain (alcohol dehidrates our body fluids). This in turn causes brain damage that will/can not be repaired. Alcohol and tobacco ads were removed from sports places and television for a reason. Since the internet is a higher form of interactive TV it should have no place here where it seems to be in your face all the time. Besides, children see it and think it is ok to drink no matter the age and start a very bad chain reaction. Alcohol is turning good people into no good, lay about, alcoholic, unimployed, homeless bums at an eayler age every day. Is this what you want to see this world come too. All I seem to hear and see these days is kids getting drunk at as earyl as 10 yr old and thinking that they are cool and 10 yrs down the road they can not hold down a job or a life with out that drink. In this community of 15000 there are 3 bars and 2 liquor stores that is 5 to many places to get alcohol. Think about the big picture, the more that become the unemployed alcoholic with no income the less you sell because they have no income to pay for it. Soon this whole world will not be able to pay for their alcohol and then where will you be with no income from the sales. More and more people are also being killed by drinking and driving and not just them selves they are taking others with them in accidents. Alcohol causes more violence in the home and on streets and more and more children are being born with damaged brains. If you must advertise then add the message of all the damages that Alcohol causes. Drugest have to with pills, perscription and over the counter, alcohol is a type of drug so why can not you do the same. Shasta spouce of a 36yold FAS man Aunt of a 15 yold niece ( i hope she never learns to drink) Cousin to two dead cousins (died to Alcohol related accident) Spouce also lost 13 friends to alcohol related accidents plus a mother and step father due to their drinking habits and is FAS due to his mothers drinking during pregancy. enough if enough stop the madness
