I urge the FTC to rely on its own past admission that self regulation workS far better than narrowly defined federal regulations. The federal government does enough to monitor alcohol industry marketing. Self-regulation by the alcoholic beverage industry is clearly sufficient, given the 50 million dollars per year spent by industry memebers of the alcohol industry involved in the business to adhere to voluntary guidelines. Cell phone use while driving and other distractions result in death and serious injury to thousands of young people every year.Should the federal government attempt to overegulate many of these practices? I think not In following its own standards, the alcohol industry conducts marketing campaigns crafted with obvious appeal to adults, in media outlets and sports venues that have a large LDA audience. Thank you for considering my views. </body> </HTML>
