The American Academy of Pediatrics requests that the Federal Trade Commission consider inviting an AAP pediatric obesity and media expert (Donald Shifrin, MD, FAAP) to serve as a panelist for the "Food Marketing to Kids Workshop, Project No. P034519. Additionally, the Academy recommends that representatives from the Children’s Media Policy Coalition - the American Psychological Association and Children's Now be invited to serve as panelists. Other potential panelists could include the American Dietitic Association, American Heart Association, and the American Diabetes Association.
