I would like to begin by thanking the FTC for this web site that allows the general public to voice their views, positive or negative, about issues that the FTC is reviewing and considering action upon. As a retired CWO4, USN veteran I served the flag for 20 years and along with millions of other Americans we see the USA selling themselves out for the almighty dollar. Adidas, Reebock, Calvin Klien, Liz Claiborne, military equipment, soccer balls, baseballs, rugs, shuttle-cocks for badmitton, pet dishes, dining ware, silverware, clothing, appliances, autos, trucks, vans, toys, watches, computers, foreign investment in pro sports and the american farm lands of the mid west is enough to make one think that eventually Chinese or Japanese will be a second language requirement for students in school. I am OPOSSED to your consideration of the new " Made in USA " protocol. I support H. Con Res, 80. NAFTA is a joke and Mexico is as corrupt a government as Columbia. The recent scandals and assasinations in Mexico is enough to make one ill. You do not have to have a PHD to realize this. I am sure there are many people pushing the FTC to pass this new and skewed version of " Made in the USA. ", however it should not be. As a Marine Engineer I even see the USN buying foreign machinery for their boats and ships. What they do not realize is that in the future if there is a conflict they will never be able to purchase spares or repair parts for their equipment and then the navy ships will be crippled by loss of equipment to keep the vessels sailing. Please do not enact this new " Made in the USA " policy.
