<davidmsmith@juno.com> To: HQ.HQ04(consumerline) Date: 8/9/97 3:54pm Subject: Made in USA The rules concerning "made in USA" should be easily understandable to the consumer and manufacturer alike. Made in the USA means exactly what it says. This is notification for the consumer and is not intended to be some marketing strategy to be interpreted by the manufacturer. The manufacturer simply has to not label product "made in the USA". I am asking only that the manufacturer not try to deceive me. Your responsible is to write a clearly understood and enforceable bill which I believe should put the threshold of outside labor and parts in the 10% to 20% range. Please remember the words CONSUMER PROTECTION. Thank you, David Smith |
