Subject: made in the U.S.A.

I would like to register my objection to the dilution of the Made in the U.S.A. label. Although it represents a substantional amount of time and effort on my part, I actively endeavor to buy clothes and merchandise that have been made in America. I realize that this is my own preference and no one other than me is going to know if my socks, underware or shirt has the USA label.

However, if the dilution of the USA label continues then although I am willing to spend the time, effort and sometimes extra money to buy american, I will be unable to do so for the simple reason that the label will have no validity. It will be worthless, and the companies that now take pride in being able to display it on their merchandise will no longer be able to claim civic virtue as one of the values of their company.

Please, make the requirements more stringent, not less. There are many people who could care less whether their clothes or their cars or their tvs or their other possessions are made in the USA. To them, the dilution of the requirements on the label have no meaning whatsoever. The ones of us who do have strong views on where our resources are spent should have the opportunity to distinguish between foreign and domestic goods

Thank you very much,
