He says that Made in USA may no longer mean what it says because of a 'substantial transformation' guideline proposal to water down the standards that determine what products qualify for this Made in USA label. He says that a recent FTC press release would have us believe that what consumers expect in this global economy is that products made elsewhere could still have the Made in USA label if they undergo substantial transformation in this country. I for one am not happy with that option. I prefer that Made in USA labels be applied to products that truly are made in the USA, and I believe that the majority of consumers agree with me.
