Re: Truth in Labeling Act

Dear Sirs and Ladies:

We are against the proposed change in labeling because

  • we want to know at point of purchase whether the product is made of items or materials manufactured in the US or in which other Country/ies;
  • we want to know at point of purchase whether the product is assembled in the US or in which other Country/ies;
  • we want to keep the right to support the “Made in USA” label and know we support the US workers and the US economy - not the Corporation who outsources the production into other countries;
  • we want to be able to choose which country’s product or labor we purchase whether it is the US, Taiwan, Korea, China or . . . ;
  • in this age of computers it will only be a minor task to list the various countries that are involved in the making of any product,;
  • we realize that some products, e.g. cars and electronics have quite an involved manufacturing track, however, WE, THE CONSUMER want to know the history to make our informed choice!

We vote NO to the weakening of “MADE IN USA” Label

Sincerely

Ursula C. Bell
