Dear Secretary:

The UAW is adamantly opposed to the FTC's proposal to severely water down the criteria to allow use of the "Made in USA" label on product labels and advertising. This proposal will make the "Made in USA" label a fraud on the American public and open the door even wider to the export of U.S. jobs.

It seems that the FTC is, unfortunately, responding to big business' and manufacturer's interests that have moved substantial operations overseas at the cost of hundreds of thousands of good American jobs.

The UAW is urging congressional members to support bipartisan Resolution 80 which calls on Congress to maintain the current "Made in USA" standard and to refrain from lowering standards at the expense of consumers and jobs in the United States.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Sincerely

John Laperle
