To whom it may concern:

As a supporter of the efforts and philosophy of the Buy America Foundation of Abington, Pa., I am writing to the Federal Trade Commission to express my staunch opposition to any relaxation of the standards required to earn a "Made in the U.S.A." label. As a consumer, I consciously shop for products made in this country and do not mind paying extra for them. Thus, I do not want to shop having to wonder if I am paying more for a product which might be labeled "Made in the U.S.A." but which was accounted for by only 75% of U.S. manufacturing costs. If a product is only 75% made in the U.S.A., then please do me the courtesy of requiring U.S. manufacturers to label it as just that "75% Made in the U.S.A." That, after all, would constitute "truth in advertising," wouldn't it?

Thank you for your attention to these comments. I trust that those involved will do what is necessary to not only provide consumers with accurate information but also protect the jobs of those who produce goods in this country.

Sincerely,

John Fitzpatrick
