To Whom It May Concern;

I'm writing in reference to the new proposed set of guidelines that will change the existing standards and guidelines for products "Made in USA". I believe that the change will water down, undermine, and dilute significantly the meaning of "Made in USA".

It is difficult now to find many products that are made in this country as it is. I care what a label reads and always will. "Made in USA" tells me a product stands for quality, and it also supports our citizens with jobs which add to the tax base.

Congress has traded away tens of thousands of jobs by passing NAFTA and GATT. And with every job, a piece of American pride has been lost.

I believe in a global economy but not at the cost of good jobs for Americans. People are working harder, longer and getting less for it. Two salaries are a necessity to run a household and it takes a toll on the family life.

The new proposed guidelines will further erode the manufacturing base and eliminate more thousands of jobs. Keep truth in labeling, "MADE ONLY IN USA'.

A Corporations bottom line has become more important to this country than its unemployment line.

Enough, is enough, if this keeps up I strongly suggest that the motto on our money reads, "IN GREED WE TRUST" that would be real truth in labeling.

Sincerely,

Barbara Finnerty
