RE: Comments of Wright Tool Company

Dear Sir/Madam:

Wright Tool Company hereby responds to the Federal Trade Commission's (The "Commission") request for comments on its proposed "Guides for the Use of U.S. Origin Claims" (the "Proposed Guides").

Wright Tool Company is a 150 employee and family owned business that has been manufacturing high quality sockets and wrenches since 1927 in Barberton, Ohio. Our products are entirely of U.S. make starting with U.S. steel, through forging, and all the manufacturing operations. We strongly oppose the Commission's proposal to weaken the standard leading to consumer deception. We know from our marketing activities that consumers are interested in both quality and reliability, which is typical of the U.S. product and is not assured by the extremely low cost producers who have been promoting their desire to sell blanks to Wright and other hand tool manufacturers.

Sincerely,

Richard B. Wright
President
