Dear Sir:

Central Tools, Inc. hereby responds to the FTC's request for comments on its proposed "Guides for the use of U.S. Origin Claims".

Central Tools, Inc. manufactures precision measuring tools and durable work lights used primarily by the professional automotive mechanic and repair shop. Our customers are very particular about the tools they use and truly want tools that are made in the U.S.A., not just labelled.

We have severe competition from Japan, Europe and particularly China. There appears to be no compunction about mis-labeling the country of origin.

Please support U.S. manufacturing by restricting the safe harbor provisions to only cover products with a genuine 75% U.S. content.
