FTC: Made In The USA Comments Concerning Dennis Cord--P894219 July 17, 1997 Secretary Donald Clark Dear Secretary Clark: I am writing to let you know what a disgrace it is to be an American when our own Federal Trade Commission is looking at other countries to produce products with the "Made In The USA" label. People like you should step out of their luxury styled living and into that of a middle or lower class worker who is trying to eke out a living. Don't you realize that most of these people are already under paid and over taxed, some do not have medical insurance and others are unable to put food on the table for their children without risking the roof over their head. How would you feel if it was your own children working very hard to support their family knowing that one day the Federal Trade Commission is going to take their job and give it to someone else overseas and then ship it back to the U.S. with the "Made In The USA" label on it? And you expect us pay for this? With what, our good looks? This is an outrage to think that YOU & THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION could sell our country so short! What are you going to do when they (European & Asian Countries) ask you for your resignation, take your pension and social security away once they realize that your job is obsolete? My family and I ask you to think twice before your sign away this beautiful country we have fought so hard to keep. Remember who you are and what that stands for. Sincerely, Dennis CordDennis Cord DON'T SELL OUT OUR COUNTRY! Dennis Cord |
