Dear Senator Mikulski:

I am greatly disturbed and I need your assistance in a matter concerning The Federal Trade Commission.

The FTC has stated that "MADE IN U.S.A." in the advertisement field and on products, no longer necessarily has to really mean what it says.

Right now, when I buy a product with the slogan of “MADE IN U.S.A.” I buy it confidently knowing that it is made either completely or almost completely with American parts and American labor.

The FTC wants to destroy my confidence in “MADE IN U.S.A." by permitting less than what I expect to receive when I purchase goods and/or products, so identified. Permission by the FTC to do less in reality constitutes a fraud upon the consumer and it opens even wider the access to moving more of our jobs to Mexico and other overseas underdeveloped countries.

I strongly urge you to resist any attempt of the FTC to change what I have, over the years, come to expect of a product identified as "MADE IN U.S.A."

Please advise me in writing what action you have taken on my request for you to deter the FTC.

Yours truly,

A.G. Bobby Fouche
