Re:Lift of Restrictions on "Made in America" Labeling

I would like to request that my opinion be taken into consideration when a judgment is made concerning the lifting of current restrictions that effect products labeled "Made in America". I do not feel that the restrictions currently in place should be lifted. As an American and the primary consumer for my family it is very important to me to be able to see the "Made in America" labeling on goods and this is often the deciding factor which I use to choose between two like products. With the ambiguity involved with the current restrictions lifted I do not feel that the information that will be made available on the new labeling structure will allow me to make an informed and conscientious purchase as an American consumer. I believe, and have taught my children, that as American's it is our duty to support our own first and foremost. I believe very strongly in this and also believe very strongly in the premise that we must practice what we teach. There must be an acceptable alternative that will not distort the origin of a manufactured product.

Sincerely,

Josie D. Bell
