Gentlemen:

We understand that there is discussion regarding the relaxation of regulations pertaining to the marking of imported goods. It would be most distressing to us if you would even consider having the designation

MADE IN USA

mean anything other than the actual meaning of these words. Products not produced in the United States should be identified with the country of origin and products partially produced in the USA should identify the percentage made in USA.

This is critically important not only to those americans who wish to support domestic industry but also to the world at large where american products are still sought after.
