Dear Sir/Madam,

I find it very disturbing that you are considering easing the requirements for manufacturers to use the “Made in the USA” label. I think this is terribly wrong and completely unfair to the manufacturers which currently are able to use this label.

I am one of the consumers that looks for this label and it often affects my buying decision.

If manufacturers have the desire to use this label I think they should try harder to meet the current requirements for using the label rather than making the label easier to acquire.

If the requirements are eased (virtually eliminated) as reported in the newspaper, the “Made in the USA” label will mean nothing in the future. That would be a terrible shame for US workers and consumers.
